Introduction:

Square fenders are also commonly used on the bow or stern of smaller tugs as pushing fenders since they can be fitted closely together to reduce the risk of ropes or protrusions catching between adjacent sections. Rectangular fenders may be surface mounted where tidal actions are not a consideration and where berthing angles are low. It may be mounted horizontally or vertically behind timbers to provide extra cushioning where dock loading must be kept low. It can be pre-curved during extrusion for solid mounting on vessels. This versatility in protecting both structures and vessels is enhanced by a wide range of available sizes.

 Features:

  1. Units can be hung vertically, horizontally or a combination of both
  2. Most economical alternative to molded rubber and timber fenders
  3. The size and softness can vary to satisfy particular design requirements
  4. Pre-curved corner sections available

 Advantages:

The Rectangular profile is the most rigid of rubber fender designs. It may be surface mounted where tidal actions are not a consideration and where berthing angles are low. It may be mounted horizontally or vertically behind timbers to provide extra cushioning where dock loading must be kept low. It can be pre-curved during extrusion for solid mounting on vessels.
